Every week we convert our indoor tennis courts for badminton. The friendly, social nature of the sessions makes Wednesday morning one of the most popular times in the Club’s weekly schedule. As a member of St. George’s Hill you’ll have full access to our professional facilities.
Why we love badminton?
Badminton is a game that can be learned when very young, but mastered over a lifetime. Whatever age or ability you are, it can hone your sporting skills and help you towards hitting your health and exercise targets. Above all, its a fun and exhilarating way to burn off calories and destress.
Badminton provides a whole body workout, improving strength, balance, co-ordination, reaction times, and can contribute to heart health. The movements in badminton affect almost every part of the body including legs, arms and core. It’s estimated that you can burn up to 450 calories per hour playing badminton.
Badminton is an indoor, any-weather sport that’s easy to fit into most routines. With its spirit of friendly competition, it’s a great way to meet new people, get involved in something that stretches you physically and mentally, and help boost confidence and mental wellbeing.
