1-1 Reformer Pilates

At Align Pilates, we provide private 1-1 Reformer Pilates sessions tailored to your goals and needs. Each session follows a structured plan to help you progress effectively, with options to purchase single sessions or discounted class packs for a more flexible approach.

Our offering of private tuition provides a very personalised session; it is the best option for those who want a highly personalised Pilates session. These sessions utilise the original Pilates equipment on the reformer, chair, cadillac and ladder barrel as well as state-of-the-art clinical reformers, ideal for athletes and rehabilitation.

All Private Sessions are 55 minutes in duration.

Duet Sessions

These Pilates sessions are becoming popular at our studio as they offer clients the flexibility of when they work out and who they work out with.

Some clients really enjoy Pilates with their partners and others with their friends.

These classes can be taken on the traditional Pilates equipment, either the reformer, cadillac or chair, so clients still receive the benefits of a bespoke private session but at a reduced price per person.

All Duet Sessions are 55 minutes in duration.

Testimonials

ANDREW CASTLE

‘Megan has kept me upright and injury free over the past few months. This means I can do what I want physically rather than just what I can manage! She’s prolonging the time I have on a tennis court or on the golf course and I’m pain free. We have a laugh whilst working and her attention to detail is profound’

CELIA GREGORY

“I started Reformer sessions with Megan in May 2023, and, after my taster session, I had no hesitation in signing up for a block of 10 and am now almost at the end of my 2nd block.

Of all the things I’ve spent money on this year, I would say that this has been the most worthwhile. As an aging tennis player, I have found that since doing the sessions I am far less achy and tired after playing, and the usual joint stiffness the day after is now much reduced. My body feels much stronger and as a result my balance has improved enormously.

Megan is a great instructor (having done floor Pilates and Aqua classes with her, I knew she would be good) and takes great care to make sure my exercises are suited to me while both challenging and most importantly, safe. She is very encouraging and attentive, making the sessions enjoyable and well structured.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Megan’s Align Pilates Studio to anyone.”

CLAIRE COPPEL

“I started Reformer Pilates with Megan in June and have done weekly one on one classes with Megan since.  Megan is a fantastic teacher – she is very encouraging and ambitious about improving your practice, but she uses her expert knowledge to achieve gains for the medium to long term. Not only is Megan supportive but she is also brilliant fun, and our sessions go so quickly! Megan is now helping me train for a half Ironman and since doing Pilates with Megan, I’ve gained great core strength and my endurance has improved. I had no idea how many different exercises you could do on a reformer and Megan always keeps it fresh! The studio is a lovely environment – modern yet calming. Thank you, Megan, for our awesome sessions! Claire”

Prehabilitation is fast becoming the craze amongst the sporting community who want to optimise performance and keep the body injury free.

For a long time now, Pilates has been the most effective form of prehabilitation whether the sport in question is your hobby or your profession. Indeed, Pilates is so effective that virtually every coach providing sports training at elite level incorporates Pilates in his or her training programme.

Different sport disciplines take different tolls on the body, through one-on-one tuition using the equipment we can effectively work on your body to help rectify imbalances that are occurring, keeping you on track to accomplish your sporting goal and achieve longevity in your chosen discipline.

The Pilates Reformer is a fantastic piece of equipment which helps your body to find length and space whilst under spring tension. It is not only a workout for your core, but also creates internal pressure to lengthen the spine, joints and muscles which leads to greater flexibility, strength, stamina and a more balanced posture.

With today’s hectic lifestyle and often being seated for long periods of time, Reformer Pilates is a great option both in terms of your physical wellbeing and your mental health.

It really is the ultimate workout for your body, and for everybody, male or female and for all ages.

The studio was founded by Megan Hill, whose lifelong passion for movement began with ballet. Growing up she was immersed in the ballet world, training at the prestigious Royal Ballet and English National Ballet School before completing her BA Hons degree with Ballet Theatre UK going on to tour across Europe with multiple ballet companies including Ballet Theatre UK, Europa ballet and Ballet Classique de Paris.

Megan was exposed to Pilates through her vigorous training as a ballet dancer, having multiple Pilates classes a week, as part of her total body fitness training.

It was during the unsettling time of Covid, that Megan decided to re-train as a Pilates Method teacher with the worldwide accredited Body Control Pilates, in which she received her certification in Mat and the following year Reformer Pilates. Therefore, Megan is now a fully qualified Reformer Pilates teacher, giving her the highest level of qualification.

In 2023, she founded Align Pilates Studio.

Hannah started practicing Reformer Pilates in 2016 after suffering from back pain in her early 20s. She was immediately hooked and this practice led her to start yoga too. A combination of both disciplines completely took the back pain away, and for the first time in Hannah’s life she had found a form of exercise she enjoyed – since she hasn’t looked back.

Hannah originally trained as a Yoga Teacher in 2018, but after feeling as though the discipline lacked a focus on core strength, Hannah then trained with STOTT Pilates in 2022 as a Mat Pilates teacher and then a Reformer Pilates teacher.

Hannah then completed her Cadillac training course with Lisa Bradshaw in 2024 and being able to combine both Reformer and Cadillac opened her mind further of the endless possibilities and the benefits of working with spring-based tension.

She is passionate about the mind-body connection, the power of breath when used with movement, and using Pilates as a tool to prevent injury and complement busy lifestyles.

She truly believes Pilates is for everyone and can always be found steadily pushing her clients to get stronger.

Yana discovered Pilates in her 20s after an ankle sprain. Unable to do any high impact exercise, she decided to try Pilates, and it turned into lifelong passion.

Whether looking to escape daily stress, relax or build strength, flexibility, mobility, it all seemed to fit together like a perfect puzzle, making the body feel better after each practise. Yana says, “Pilates feels like a form of meditation in action.
It opens up so many possibilities and varieties of movement, allows you to connect to your body and see it from a different angle.”
Above all, Pilates makes body and mind work together in harmony, so having experienced that wonderful ease and lightness, plus added strength, Yana wants to continue learning and share this with her clients.

She thinks what makes Pilates great is the fact that it suits everybody, age, gender regardless of their ability or level of fitness.

She enjoys helping people make improvements in their life, create fun and enjoyable sessions with variety of movements and use of different equipment.

The sudden peak in Reformer Pilates teachers and studios has prompted the EMD (leading board in the UK for exercise to music and dance standards) to create UK standards for Pilates teachers. They are clearly differentiating between ‘Pilates Method Teachers’ and ‘Fitness Pilates Teachers’.

Pilates Method Teachers hold the credentials through the vigorous demands of training and exams in order to gain a certification. Meaning they are fully qualified to teach; this is extremely important to ensure that you are being taught correctly and safely when working on these pieces of equipment.

And we are proud to say that the team at Align Pilates Studio are all fully comprehensive.
